As the goal of the Symposium is to deliver practical tools for greater LGBT inclusion in the workplace, the afternoon will consist of 4 different and inter-active sessions which allow participants to fully understand the topic. Each of the 4 sessions below will be held twice giving each symposium participant the opportunity to join two sessions.
Session 1: “Defining the Polish LGBT Business Case”: Demonstrating the value of LGBT diversity and inclusion in the Polish workplace, both for domestic companies and international companies working there, remains a challenge. However, it also offers clear advantages with a direct benefit to your bottom line. This session explores how LGBT inclusion can be better integrated into the Polish context.
- Moderator: Mark Emdin, Organizational Effectiveness Manager, Global Functions, Shell International
Session 2: “The Positive Effect of LGBT Employee Networks”: LGBT employees can be a powerful resource to reach new clients, engage your employees and better understand all diverse groups, but how to include them? This session looks at the ins and outs of creating LGBT employee networks that benefit both employees and your business.
- Moderator: Martha McDevitt-Pugh, and Joanna Semeniuk, ING
Session 3: “Straight Allies – the Key to LGBT Acceptance”: Just as an art critic will have a more critical viewpoint of a painting than the artist, hearing a story of how to include LGBT people in the workplace has a different impact if coming from a non-LGBT person. Through case studies and inter-active dialogue, this session will reveal how engaging ‘straight allies’ can make a world of difference in your organizations.
- Moderator: Jean-Michel Monnot, Global Head D&I,Sodexo
Session 4: “Executive Leadership & LGBT Workplace Inclusion”: Support for LGBT workplace inclusion at the highest organizational levels is a vital key to success. This holds true not only for internally focused policies and practices, but just as much so for external relations with clients and CSR. This workshop is an introduction to the importance of leadership with LGBT workplace inclusion and also a guide for how leaders can combine forces with other organizations to have greater impact on this topic.
- Moderator: David Pollard, Executive Director Workplace Pride, and Beata Markowska, IBM
